Two people died when a covered van overturned and crushed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Bhoradoba club market area of Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh on Saturday.

The incident took place on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway at about 4:45am on Saturday.

One of the deceased was identified as the auto-rickshaw driver Abdul Halim, 40, son of Amir Uddin Mandal in the Bailor area of Trishal upazila, and the identity of the passenger is yet to be ascertained.

Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhoradoba Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident.
